Regional Sales Manager (pumps / pump systems)

The Position

As Regional Sales Manager Southern Europe (primarily France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Greece) you support the distributors in both commercial and technical aspects. Commercially, your main responsibility is to achieve the annual sales targets and to provide sustainable growth in the countries under your responsibility. This being done by growing the business in the existing distributor network, finding additional distributors and by supporting the direct business our Clients has with end-users in defined markets (a.o. OEM and Rental). You are also responsible for providing training to the distributors, visiting end-users (in most cases together with the distributor) and achieving a high level of customer satisfaction. On the technical side, you help the distributors with questions, inquires and other aspects distributors cannot process themselves. You will be sufficiently familiar with the line of products at our Client to answer many of the questions directly, for more complicated aspects you can rely on the engineering team in The Netherlands. Travelling will be a substantial part of the job. When not travelling, you will work from home.

Your Profile

  • Proven track record in sales B2B (at least five years).
  • Commercial and technical background, preferably in the pump industry.
  • Experience in working with distributors.
  • Highly driven and self-motivated.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong communicator who is excellent in developing relationships.
  • Disciplined and organized.
  • Good team player.
  • Willing to travel – 50% of the time.
  • Able to work from home (home office).
  • Fluent English, other languages is advantageous.
  • Must feel comfortable with the people and business cultures in the assigned region.
  • IT knowledge MS Office, CRM and ERP software.
  • Preferably living in the Southern European region.

The Organisation

Our Client manufactures and sells pumps (centrifugal pumps, self-priming pumps, rotary gear pumps, and more) for a wide variety of applications, predominantly in the Industry, the mining- and construction sector and the waste water technology. The organisation has two facilities in Europe where all the engineering, assembly, sales and logistics for the European market is done. The European market is served through a dedicated network of distributors and a great team of experts from the European head office in The Netherlands. The European sales is done through an extensive distributor network, and in defined cases also directly to end-users. At our Client they prize themselves in being hard working, dedicated and customer focused. Within the company people operate as a team, trying to achieve results in a combined effort.
